Magic Color applies CLAHE (Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization) in the LAB colorspace to locally boost contrast, then increases saturation and applies an unsharp mask. The result is vivid, pop-off-the-page color — exactly like CamScanner's colour mode.

B&W Document uses adaptive thresholding which handles uneven lighting perfectly — even if one corner is in shadow, text stays black and paper stays white. Best for contracts, invoices, forms, and printed text.

Detection works best with clear contrast between the document and background. Common failures: white paper on white desk, heavy shadows, very crumpled document. When it fails, just drag the four corner handles to set your crop manually.

OCR Ready applies NL-means denoising (stronger than bilateral), a tighter adaptive threshold, and morphological cleanup to produce the cleanest possible binary image for text extraction. Shadow Removal uses morphological illumination normalization — it estimates the background lighting map by dilating the image (expanding bright regions to cover dark ones), then normalises each pixel's brightness relative to the local background.
